Events WE DO THROUGHOUT THE YEAR
Here’s a snapshot of some of the things we typically get up to throughout the year at All Saints’.
COFFEE MORNING
Come and join us for chat and home-made cake every Wednesday from 10-11am, in the welcoming atmosphere of our beautiful ancient building.
You’d then be very welcome to join us at 11am for a short service of Morning Prayer.
There is no need to book in advance but if you’d like someone to look out for you, then please let us know.
Homegroups
Homegroups are an essential part of our church community, a valuable way to deepen our Bible knowledge, build strong friendships and support each other, as we grow in our journey of faith, through the ups and downs of life. They give us a chance to ask questions, share experience, and explore how the Bible applies to our lives today.
The format will vary according to the material and the preference of the group but usually we will follow a Bible study series over a number of weeks, sometimes with video led courses and sometimes with printed material.
A group will typically start with a short prayer and an opening few questions. We will read a Bible passage and work through a series of questions together. We will always look to the Bible to provide the answers and, most importantly, we will explore what the passage means to us today. Usually groups will end with time of prayer, both in response to what has been studied and it’s application in our lives, and then too for each other, our church and the world.
Usually groups meet in the leader’s home and you are welcome to visit a number of groups until you find one that’s right for you.
See details of our regular groups here. To find out more, please contact the church office.
CAMPING WEEKEND
Although our numbers were smaller this year (GCSEs, A levels and a dance show all clashed this year) and at times it felt like a battle of survival against the weather, we were still blessed with a great weekend of fellowship and fun together at Lockerley Water Farm in Hampshire.
Holiday Club
Annually for many years now, one week of the school holidays has been dedicated to our very popular children’s Holiday Club. Run by an enthusiastic team of volunteers, this is a week full of noisy fun, games, songs, drama and craft.
SportsReach
SPORTSREACH SAY:
Sport played in a safe and encouraging environment can have a positive impact on young people as they grow in character and confidence.
At SportsReach Soccer and Netball Schools, we aim to develop skills, teamwork and sportsmanship. We also teach the good news of Jesus Christ from the Bible, That’s what SportsReach Sports Schools are all about….an all-round positive experience!
Soccer and Netball School is an opportunity for your child to receive the highest quality sporting instruction from experienced coaches. To ensure quality instruction, we maintain a ratio of one coach to every six to eight young people The coaching takes place in a safe environment, with an emphasis on fun!
This is usually held in the Summer Holidays, at the end of July.
Ladies Events
All Saints’ Ladies and their friends enjoy a wide range of activities throughout the year - most involve food and all involve chat and laughter!
Baking, tasting, walking, crafting, listening, reading, praying, learning, growing……………
Laleham Fair
We often take part in the Village event of the year, Laleham Fair. There is usually a themed stall with lots of activities for children, with a puzzle trail leading through the churchyard, to the peace and cool of our beautiful ancient building where homemade refreshments are served.
Laleham Open Gardens and Flower Festival
The Church fills with the fragrance of fresh flowers, beautifully arranged by our talented team, as All Saints’ contribution to Laleham Open Gardens. Tea and homemade cake is served of course!
Passion Play
A number of our congregation have lent their acting skills and backstage support to the Passion Play, performed at Staines-upon-Thames Riverside over the Easter weekend. This amazing opportunity to retell the true events of Easter, is organised by Churches Together in Staines and Laleham.
